Built To Love by Donnaié
Her hands held out for him,
his infatuation a parasite for praise,
“give me” and she gave,
wholeheartedly.
He opens his door once more,
believing the finality of her return
to give her the light for them to shine together.
Her familiarity oversteps his love
in the form of choosing herself
by stealing his heart for fortune.
Heartbreak shovels snows
of grief, shame, disgust,
humiliation for seeking love
in tender places.
She built him
in order to
confess her affection.
He built her
For with the intention
of forever.
Admirable yet all in vain…
